Christchurch Art Gallery
Theatre and Auditorium SeatingAfter originally opening in 2003 and serving as the Civil Defense headquarters during the 2010 and 2011 Christchurch Earthquakes, the Christchurch Art Gallery Te Puna o Waiwhetū has played many different roles for the Christchurch community. The gallery hosts a range of events including weddings, conferences and corporate functions.
The Christchurch Art Gallery auditorium is used for many of these events as well as for hosting lectures and movie showings. In 2023 we supplied the Christchurch Art Gallery with 178 Viva Petite seats for their auditorium. 4 of the front row seats are removable to ensure wheelchair access.
The art gallery was looking to upgrade their old seats while keeping the seating capacity the same. As well as this, the seats needed to be installed on a curved platform to cohesively match the curve of the room. For this reason, the Viva Petite was chosen and customised in dark blue upholstery.
